A non-center grinding machine, also known as centerless grinding machine, is a type of grinding equipment that does not require the workpiece to be held between centers or secured with a chuck. Instead, the workpiece is supported by a work rest blade and rotated between a grinding wheel and a regulating wheel.

non center grinding machine How It Works:
1. Grinding Wheel: High-speed abrasive wheel that removes material.
2. Regulating Wheel: Controls the workpiece rotation speed and feed rate.
3. Work Rest Blade: Supports the workpiece during grinding.

Types of Centerless Grinding:
1. Through-Feed Grinding
– Used for long cylindrical parts (e.g., bars, tubes).
– The workpiece is fed continuously through the wheels.

2. In-Feed (Plunge) Grinding
– Used for complex shapes with multiple diameters (e.g., stepped shafts).
– The regulating wheel moves inward to grind the part.

3. End-Feed Grinding
– Used for tapered or shortnon center grinding machinerkpieces.
– The workpiece is fed from one side and removed after grinding.

Advantages:
✔ No need for center holes or fixtures → Faster setup & higher productivity.
✔ Ideal for mass production of cylindrical parts (e.g., bearings, pistons, rollers).
✔ Better roundness & surface finish compared to centered grinding.

Applications:
– Automotive components (shafts, valves)
– Aerospace parts (turbine blades)
– Medical devices (surgical instruments)
– Precision engineering (pins, rollers)
